Professor Dimitris Ziouvas is an internationally renowned expert in Economic Crime, Transnational Organized Crime, Corruption-related criminality, International and European Criminal Law.

Dimitris Ziouvas is a valedictorian of the Athens Law School and a scholarship funded PhD holder of the University of Cologne (Germany). Dimitris has served as Professor of Criminal Law and Compliance at the University of Sussex Law School (UK), where he also directs the International Anti-Corruption Masterclass Program, jointly offered with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (Qatar). In 2018, Prof Ziouvas was appointed as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of London and a member of the faculty of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (Austria).

Dimitris Ziouvas is the Director of the European University Center for Crime and Justice (EUROCRIM) at Panteion University of Athens.

He is the founder of the European Integrity Youth Academy (EURIA) and two leading youth civic networks in Greece: “Anti-Corruption Youth Greece” and “Mama Eftasa” (Justice for the Tempi train crash). Dimitris has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Greek Anti-Corruption Authority. He is a senior expert/consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the European Union, and the Council of Europe in anti-corruption and crime prevention programs.

Dimitris Ziouvas has authored and published nine books on economic crime, organized crime, and corruption, including Organized Crime (2021), Law and Policy Against Corruption in Greece and Internationally (2016), Financial Criminal Law (2018), Banking Criminal Law (2018) and Economic Crimes (2007, co-authored with Professor Nestor Courakis). He has also authored the chapters on Greece of the leading German handbooks on international real estate law, corporate law and industrial property law.

Prof Ziouvas΄ numerous scientific studies have been published in English, German, Spanish, and Japanese.

Dimitris Ziouvas is a practicing attorney at law admitted before the Supreme Court of Greece and a member of both the Athens and Berlin Bar Associations. He is the Managing Partner of Ziouvas & Partners Law Firm. Z&P Law Firm specializes in private international law, with a strong focus on real estate law and transnational inheritance law. The law firm is also well known for high-value civil litigation cases.

Prof Ziouvas is a certified mediator and arbitrator, serving as Greece’s appointed arbitrator at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) of the World Bank.

Dimitris is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and serves as a compliance officer and anti-corruption ombudsman for multinational companies in Greece and abroad.

For his internationally leading research, educational and community work against corruption, Professor Ziouvas was awarded in 2016, personally by the United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, with the International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award in support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
